Our aim is to contribute to the understanding of the pathological process that regulate the initiation, progression and exacerbation of lung fibrosis at the tissular, cellular and molecular level to discover new relevant biomarkers and targeted therapies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a chronic<\/strong> and life-threatening interstitial lung disease of unknown origin, characterized by lung tissue scarring, destruction of alveolar structures and disrupted gas exchange leadinf to respiratory failure ans death. IPF’s natural history is heterogeneous, and its progression unpredictable.\u00a0Currently, no effective treatment is available, the existing antifibrotic drugs are only able to slow the disease progression.<\/p>

Our goal is to improved the comprehension of the pathogenetic mechanisms<\/strong> through the d\u00e9veloppement of appropriate in vitro models<\/strong> and an in-depth characterisation<\/strong> of the signaling pathways implicated in intercellular communication<\/strong> during the fibrotic process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
